Seigfreid Bingham’s Banking and Financial Services practice offers one-stop shopping for highly complex financings, deal execution, and legal advice to the financial sector, including banks, corporate borrowers, and non-bank financial institutions and their holding companies. Our attorneys serve as trusted advisors on a broad range of services tailored to meet the needs of financial institutions, including transactional work, asset-based lending, real estate lending, secured financing, loan restructurings, collateral recovery, debtor-in-possession financing, enforcement, workouts, and litigation advisory.

Our attorneys serve as strategic partners in the negotiation and drafting of transaction documents, including real estate loans, collateralized loans, loan agreements, asset agreements, purchase agreements, and sale agreements; and the documentation of mergers and acquisitions, while also advising clients on corporate finance matters involving multi-tier equity and debt financing. We also provide advisory services, helping clients navigate complex financial transactions and strategic decisions, and offer advice on business strategies, risk management, and corporate governance.

Within this group, our dedicated Creditor Rights team provides aggressive and innovative enforcement and workouts to financial institutions, corporate creditors, and individual creditors.  Our attorneys guide our clients through contract breaches, issues arising from defaults or disputes over loan terms, pursuit of receivership remedies, foreclosure of real property and personal property collateral, bankruptcy filings by borrowers, forbearance/standstill agreements, restructurings, defending actions brought against financial institutions for lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, and other loan-related matters.

Whatever your institution's banking and financial services legal issue, we have attorneys with the right experience to assist your institution.  At our core, we strive to maintain strong client relationships and focus on regular communication, providing reliable, results-driven, and cost-effective services. We also collaborate efficiently with other teams at Seigfreid Bingham, including those specializing in tax, employment, and intellectual property, if needed, to leverage their expertise and deliver effective legal solutions to our clients.

The primary contact for the Banking and Financial Services group is its practice group leader, Rob Maher. He has been recognized by multiple publications for his expertise in creditors rights, bankruptcy, and real estate. Rob can be reached at 816.265.4119.
